Compte-rendu de la rencontre :
After the disappearance of a young scientist on a business trip, his son and wife struggle to cope, only to make a bizarre discovery years later – one that may bring him home.
Rôle : Marika Whyte
“It’s hard to imagine what it would feel like to have the person you trust most, are closest to, fall of the face of the earth without explanation – what kind of hole that would leave,” says Anderson. “Marika is woman with a lot of joy. But after Gabriel is gone everything in her life just slows down. There’s so much sadness for her in the unanswered questions.”
“Marika tried to persevere for as long as she could, but everything she does, including her work, brings her back to the question of what happened? Why? What did she not see in Gabriel that might have been a clue to what was coming?”
Réalisateur et scénariste : Richie Mehta (Amal…)
“Marika is a very challenging character,” says Mehta. “She has no redemption through any act of her own – she starts low and goes lower. I think it’s a hard thing to play and make relatable, to show someone descending – who isn’t coming back.”
“Gillian is an actress who has a mournful quality that is counterbalanced by a very natural sweetness, I think it’s very easy to feel empathy for her. She also possesses the dramatic strength to be able to go to the dark places of the character. Watching her in this performance, I think people will want to reach into the screen and embrace her.”
Distribution : Haley Joel Osment (Erol Whyte), Rufus Sewell (Gabe Whyte), Victor Garber (Sal), John Paul Ruttan (le jeune Erol), Sarah Manninen (Avril), Sherry Miller (Mrs Moore), Simon Reynolds (Dr Reynolds), Susanna Fournier (Grace), Brandon Firla (Johnny/Jimmy), Catherine Bruhier (Holland), Laura Miyata (Smita), Rupinder Nagra (agent), Thomas Hauff (professeur), Jonah Wineberg (Jeremy), Asim Wali (Asim), Rosalba Martinni (la femme à l’aéroport), Louise Nicol (La vieille dame à Princeton), Kiara Glasco (jeune Gracie)…
